Chuckles For Charity!
As well as all the latest updates from the world of packaging, we also like to share news about Team YPS’s adventures and escapades! So without further ado ladies and gentlemen…
On Thursday 14th November we attended a fantastic local Comedy Night event at Ossett Town Hall organised by Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice, which we are pleased to report was completely packed out! (Thankfully the professionals do a better job of puns than we do!)
The trio of performing comedians included local funny man Graeme Rayner and two former Britain’s Got Talent finalists, Micky P Kerr and Siobhan Phillips. All three delivered hilarious sets which raised the roof of the town hall with laughter! In-between performances, the crowds were entertained by presenter Pete Emmett, a comedian who in fact used to live next door to our Managing Director Glyn Johnson and Operations Director Rachel Johnson as children! Pete did a brilliant job of eliciting guffaws from Team YPS as he mercilessly teased the brother and sister with embarrassing memories from years gone by!
We are delighted to advise that we proudly assumed the headline sponsorship role for this year’s Comedy Night, donations from which went in full directly to the hospice. We were treated to a VIP drinks reception, lots of special mentions by the comedians and organisers and very strong marketing presence. Our 15-strong YPS crew were also given prime positions across the front and second rows of the hall to ensure that not a single quip was missed!
Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice are a Huddersfield-based charity who offer support to children and their families with life shortening conditions. They work tirelessly to raise awareness, offer medical and emotional care and be there for families when they are most needed. YPS have a close relationship with the charity and are honoured to support them whenever possible. That’s why we decided to match fund the event to a total of £6,400 – a resounding success we think you will agree!
