Minova Build With Yorkshire Packaging Systems
It is with absolute pleasure that we can announce the successful installation of one of the country’s largest automatic inline sleeve wrappers at the factory of Minova Weldgrip who are based in Barnsley.
Minova Weldgrip, now part of the Orica Group, are a global organisation specialising in the building and mining industries and so due to the size of their products required an extra wide shrink wrapper in order to accommodate all of their building products.
The equipment which we supplied them with consists of a 2600mm wide sleeve sealer and shrink tunnel and is being used to shrink wrap steel mesh for use in concrete foundations in the building industry.
Not only because of the width this shrink wrapper is unique in a number of ways. Including from how the product is detected to more importantly the use of two pressurised horizontal rollers at the outfeed of the shrink tunnel to effectively weld the two sheets of polythene shrink film together. This was critical to the application in making the product fit for purpose.
We upgraded the standard specification in a number of areas to achieve a great presentation whilst also accommodating packs with relatively high weights reaching in some cases around 80 kilos.
Steve Jackson, Minova Weldgrip MD commented ‘When looking to describe the installation “Plug and Play” comes to mind and this being the first of machine of its type supplied by your company is commendation indeed.”
It was critical for us that we got the outfeed of the machine right and so we put a lot of time and effort to getting the design of this correct.
