45 Years Of YPS

We’re not ones to brag, but even we think we look pretty good to say we’re on the cusp of marking our half century in business! At 45 years young, we’re still basking in the swish new look we rolled out in 2021 and still very much enjoying the curb appeal of the fancy state-of-the-art HQ we relocated to in Brighouse!

The journey so far

Despite our age-defying image, we’ve also nailed the maturity, wisdom and experience that only comes with a few decades on the job. In our 45 year history we’ve seen a lot; huge advancements in wrapping tech, scores of industry trends come and go, thousands of customers join our ranks, countless numbers of packaging projects boxed off and a steady growth in the size of our trophy cabinet! We've welcomed many new colleagues to the business (the last 18 months has seen our numbers swell by 10!) and sadly we've seen some long-term YPS'ers retire into the sunset. Through it all, we’ve learnt what it takes to stay ahead of the pack and how to remain stable, consistent, resilient and forward-thinking whatever the weather. It’s this longevity which has earnt us the trustworthiness and reliability we're infamous for. Take a peek at our heritage page for more highlights spanning way back to 1977!

Party plans...

With this in mind, it wouldn’t be right to let this particular anniversary pass by without a little nod to both how far we’ve come so far and everything we're still excited to achieve in the future. Plus, we’ve been hankering for a little ribbon cutting ceremony ever since we moved to Brighouse, with COVID scuppering our plans at every turn so far! So today, 2nd September 2022, we’ve organised an intimate event for colleagues, business partners and long-time friends of YPS to celebrate our birthday, raise a toast to the amazing leadership of our Chairman David Johnson and help us make our new HQ official.

Amongst our attendees are suppliers who have helped us build our brand, our building and this very website. We're also joined by delegates from our amazing international network of machinery and materials manufacturing partners, Bollore, Hugo Beck, TOSA and Pregis. Finally, we're hosting representatives from two special local charities that are very close to our hearts; Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice and Overgate Hospice. Fundraising activities in honour of both charities are taking place throughout today with the total donations being match funded by Team YPS. And to our extremely important customers, we're throwing out a huge THANK YOU for your support, with a luxury #appreciationpost hamper now winging it's way to around 20 of the most loyal businesses on our books.

Back here at HQ, we're treating our guests to some captivating sleight of hand from talented magician Luke Lenihan and side-splitting stand up comedy from Pete Emmett. There's also quizzes, raffles and games galore (with some posh prizes to be won!), cake, nibbles, drinks, music and lots of mingling!
