ROI of less than 12 months for automated ecommerce bagging equipment

One leading online and instore fashion retailer has recently invested in automated packing equipment to support their web sales, discovering that payback will be possible in less than a year. 

The machinery purchased was a Max Pro 24 vertical bagging machine, supplied by YPS.

The solution - Max Pro 24 vertical bagging machine

The Max Pro 24 will achieve packing speeds of over 350 packs per hour.  The company’s previous rate was around 240 packs per hour, achieved via a resource-intensive process delivered by four manual packing stations.  The packing staff have been deployed elsewhere in the business, providing additional resource where it’s needed.

This model of vertical bagging machine includes an integrated state-of-the-art thermal transfer printer for direct on-bag printing.  This ensures no secondary labels are required, speeding up the packing process, reducing cost and ensuring that there’s no compromise on the recyclability of the used bag.

Our in-house team of engineers commissioned the equipment on site and trained the retailer’s operators so that they would be confident in using it.  A service contract was also included, which is standard practice with equipment supplied by YPS.  Currently the retailer is utilising plain mailing bags, also supplied from our stocks, with the intention of shortly moving to printed materials, to further highlight their brand to their consumers.
