YPS Love A Tri-athloner!
In 2017, Yorkshire Packaging Systems turned 40 years old. They say that with age comes wisdom, and so we’d like to think we are now wise enough to know a good cause when we see one. That’s why we decided to dedicate our anniversary year to supporting the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice, a local charity very close to our hearts. With this good cause in mind, July saw our Managing Director Glyn Johnson and three brave members of our sales team – Jonny Braithwaite, Josh Gibson and Archie Watson – devoting every spare minute to training for a Triathlon with all funds raised going directly to the charity.
We are pleased to report that all of our new athletes survived the day, and even had some fun! The weather held out for the duration and it was smiles all round on the finish line.
Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice work tirelessly to support children with life shortening conditions and their families in West Yorkshire to make their lives just a little bit easier. From offering respite to hydrotherapy, music therapy, neonatal care, counselling or bereavement support; their care team supports the whole family both at their purpose built hospice in Huddersfield as well as in families own homes. They need to raise £3.8 million each year with just 6% of this coming from government sources.
With this in mind, the greatest birthday present that we could wish for would be the chance to make a difference for this fantastic hospice and its patients. If you were in a position to help with a donation, no matter how small, it would be appreciated greatly. Forget Me Not is a local, independent charity and so without continued support from the local community, the work of their loyal, dedicated, hardworking staff who touch the lives of so many, would no longer be viable.
