Yorkshire Packaging Systems Ltd, the sole distributor of Bollore high performance polyolefin shrink films has introduced a pre-perforated film into its range.
During the shrinking process it is necessary to have perforations in the film to allow the trapped air to escape. This facilitates a good presentational shrink and prevents the air from simply burning its way out of the pack.
All shrink wrappers have some form of perforation system. However, if not properly maintained, the perforation wheels may become blunt and tear the film. This can cause major problems to users as too many perforations can result in a less presentable pack.
The new BE grade of film from Bollore, only available from YPS in the UK, will address this problem. Available in a range of gauges and widths, the film is pre-perforated so there is one less thing to worry about with machine set ups.
Glyn Johnson YPS Sales Director explains “We have seen so many problems relating to incorrect perforations; especially with some of the cheaper systems on the market. The new BE film should make life easier for a lot of users, indeed the initial feedback we have had has been extremely positive”.
