Newhay Feeds are an innovative family farming business which has developed a unique feed specially formulated for Guinea pigs which is being rolled out nationally in major retailers such as Pets at Home, forcing the company to take stock of its packing methods. This new innovative formula “Timothy Hay” created a requirement for not only a semi automatic sleeve sealer and shrink tunnel but also for a combination unit L sealer and shrink tunnel both of which we were happy to supply.

Two different machines were required as they both served different purposes in the packaging process. The L sealer and shrink tunnel were required to individually shrink wrap each portion of feed before they were then collated into bundles and wrapped using the sleeve sealer as multipack units for sale. The benefits to Newhay were immediate with a rise in throughput as volumes have continued to increase.

Both pieces of equipment are relatively standard within our range but ultimately the order was won on the equipment’s’ simplicity of controls as well as the incorporated backup and support package with an inclusive service contract.
