Acorn Dairies are an award winning, family run, Darlington based dairy who have been in business since 1928. They produce milk, cheeses, yogurts, eggs and have even extended their product range over recent years to include artisan breads, natural fruit juices and breakfast cereals.
When their old shrink wrapper became increasingly unreliable and the dairy won new contracts they looked to us to help improve their efficiency and aid expansion with our in-house designed and manufactured SS120 heavy duty stainless steel side feed shrink wrapper.
Our SS120 is specially designed specifically for the dairy industry and is able to cope with this demanding environment. It is manufactured completely in stainless steel with low voltage waterproof electrics and a unique high-speed low maintenance sealing jaw is utilised to provide absolute reliability and consistency of the seal at speed in a wet environment.
Our SS 120 provided them with absolute flexibility in a small floorspace and so was the logical choice for Acorn dairies who needed to upgrade an older mild steel less heavy duty shrink wrapper that was beginning to show its age and become unreliable, with backup and support becoming increasingly difficult to source.
The SS 120 is able to wrap any trayless pack configuration required by a dairy, regardless of if these are in bottles or cartons it can still achieve speeds of up to 14 packs per minute and thanks to a series of innovative improvements with regards to change parts for different pack sizes and collations, changeover times are drastically reduced with very few change parts now required.
